Acts 19:11-20 “Genuine Power vs. Imitation”
Bible Text: Acts 19:11-20 | Preacher: Pastor Arnold | Series: Acts | Acts 19:11-20
Genuine Power vs. Imitation
Genuine or fake. There is a difference between the real thing and a knock off product. Sometimes the knock off looks really close. I’m told that Dooney and Bourke handbags can go for several hundred dollars, but a fake dooney on ebay goes for $30. While that might be ok for some, so long as they know they’re not getting the real thing, others desire the genuine and worth the price. However, when you think you’re getting the real thing but someone is trying to cheat you, when the price really is too good to be true, then no matter how good the imitation might be, you feel like you got ripped off. It’s been said that in order to be able to spot a counterfeit one has to study and know the genuine, the real thing, really well. In our text this morning, I hope to show you the real power of God versus the imposters trying to manufacture an imitation. Furthermore, I want us to appreciate the effects of the power of God in the lives of Christians.
